"Highlander," is a science fiction show centered around a secret race of Immortals, who can only be permanently killed by having their heads cut off. Living among humans these Immortals duel to the death to be the last Immortal left alive.

Methos (actor Peter Winfield) is the oldest living Immortal at over 5000 years old. He's so old he doesn't even remember where he was born or how old he actually is. Wily, cunning, and dedicated to his own survival, he's done and been many things. He hides himself from other Immortals in the ranks of the Watchers (a secret society watching the secret race of immortals) as a Watcher he hid from Watchers and Immortals alike until he meets Duncan.

Duncan McCloud, (actor Adrian Paul) is the Highlander. Born from Scotland he is a relatively young Immortal at about only 400 years old. Idealistic, moralistic, and compassionate, he's done things in the past that he isn't proud of but always strives to do the right thing. Devastated by the murder of Tessa, the mortal woman he loved, Duncan moved back to Paris, France. It is there that he discovers the secret within the secret society of Watchers, and meet Methos, the oldest known immortal.
